Welcome. I’m a young-at-heart, grandma who decided to embark on a journey to running my first half-marathon exactly a year after turning 50 years old and my first 5K. I’m well on my way to earning my super-grandmother cape. I work full-time in the Human Resources field, fancy myself to be a part-time writer (just for fun) and serve as the Launch Manager for BellaOnline.com.

I’m also a divorced mom of three fantastic kids and love being a grandmother – that’s all in my spare time. I figured I needed something new to earn my super-gma cape so I decided to start running.

In 2013, I asked you to join me on my journey to my first half-marathon. Well “check” done on February 23, 2014. Funny, I had said as soon as I crossed the finish line I was hanging up my sneakers, but now I’m motivated to keep going. Please continue to join me as I continue on my quest to run one half-marathon, then another and another!

Could this grandma be on her way to a full marathon? Stand by!

  1. Hi Dianne! I’m glad I stumbled upon your blog! I’ve been running a lot more lately, and it made me wonder how your training was going. I checked out your twitter feed, and boom! I found your blog!

  2. Hi! I don’t know if you saw that I responded to your question about Sassy water. So I thought I would post it here to ensure you saw it, and so that you wouldn’t think I’m ignoring you! LOL. Here is the recipe for Sassy water:

    For every two liters use one medium cucumber, one medium lemon (both sliced very thin), 12 mint leaves, and a teaspoon of ground ginger. I used ginger root. Put everything in the water and chill for eight hours. Strain the ingredients, and drink! It tastes pretty good, and quenches my thirst better than plain water. Let me know if try it, and if you like it!
